Vortex Bottle Connectors

Vortex Bottle Connectors are colorful, durable and easy to wash. They offer educational and fun activities for sensory development as well as the learning of physical sciences. By attaching two bottles together with a Vortex Bottle Connector and then letting water swirl down from the top bottle to the bottom bottle, students will see the formation of a funnel-shaped vortex that allows both air and water to exchange places at the same time.

Through additional observation and discussion, students can learn various science ideas, such as:
✔  Two substances cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
✔  The explanation of weather change.
✔  Fluid dynamics and the fact that water is heavier or denser than air.

Fountain Bottle Connector

Fountain Bottle Connector is an excellent tool for teaching gravity, air pressure, vacuum and compression. It is a great "toy" to demonstrate the compressibility of gases vs. the non compressibility of liquids; and how the pressure of gas increases when compression is applied.

✔ When the bottles are inverted, gravity pulls the water from the upper bottle down through the lower tube, and compresses the air in the lower bottle.
✔ As water leaves the upper bottle, a decrease in pressure - or partial vacuum - is formed. Air is then forced from the lower bottle, up through the fountain tube, and takes the place of water as it leaves the upper bottle.
✔ When air from the lower bottle pushes the water in the upper bottle through the fountain tube, it sprays to create a fountain like formation.
✔ The water flow is not continuous in this closed system. The bottles must be inverted from time to time to create a fountain eruption.
